CCAI – Christ Community Action Initiative

The Christ Community Action Initiative is a ministry of Bethel Gospel Assembly, Inc. formed in 2004 in an effort to address the need for advocacy on behalf of those who have been marginalized, ostracized or disenfranchised.
Bethel Gospel Assembly Inc., is local in proximity, but glocal in focus.  Since Bethel’s inception in 1917, the ministry has had worldwide impact for the cause of Christ.  Bethel’s ministry is well known within the local community, particularly amongst those who are under-resourced and facing life-challenging issues.  The Discipleship Program for men and Beth Hark Christian Care Center are two examples of Bethel’s ministries that are designed to meet the needs of their consumers in a holistic  way.
CCAI has been birthed to enlarge the scope of the advocacy component of Bethel Gospel Assembly’s ministry.

Our Mission

In conjunction with the overarching mission of Bethel Gospel Assembly, Inc., the Christ Community Action Initiative (CCAI) exists “to reach local and global communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ”.  CCAI purposes to promote community transformation via information gathering and distribution, and the identification of concerns and initiatives consistent with biblical standards and objectives.

Our Methodology
In as much as CCAI is committed to seeing the communities transformed socially, educationally, politically and spiritually, we seek to accomplish our mission by:

  • Targeting local community schools, where allowable by legal guidelines, for accountability, advocacy and support to youth attending Harlem schools.
  •  Interacting with local community boards to foster relationships, promote sensitivity to critical community issues, provide advocacy from a biblical perspective, and introduce a moral voice into the political process impacting our local community; an
  •  Responsibly establishing partnerships with other churches, para-church and community-based organizations.
